Ya-ya

Jackson’s first word was “mum-mum”, which means food in Chinese and is also the name of one of his favorite crackers. So whenever DeeDee would say “mama”, Jackson would confuse it with mum-mum and would run to the kitchen expecting food. Eventually, we figured out that Jackson made up his own word for DeeDee: “Ya-ya”. So whenever he wants DeeDee he asks for “ya-ya”, or if he’s at her feet and whining to be held, he says, “a-ya…a-ya”. Here he is identifying each member of our family by our official names, at least according to Jackson…
