Jackson’s Birthday

Jackson had a reptile/insect birthday party which we celebrated a few weeks ago. But for his actual birth-day, we visited the Wildlife Learning Center for some hands-on animal experiences. He and Delilah decided that they wanted to touch porcupines and an alligator. The porcupines were adorable. We learned that they have poor eyesight and their quills are located toward the back, under their fur and covering their tails. They can’t project or fling their quills, but they come off VERY easily so we definitely avoided touching them. The alligator was pretty awesome too. The Wildlife Learning Center takes on injured animals and animals that used to be people’s pets. The kids love it there.
