Making Butter with Her Big Buddies
Once a week, Delilah’s kindergarten class meets up with their 5th grade “Big Buddies.” They’re paired with the same big buddy/ies through the whole year. The Kindergarteners and 5th graders chose who to team up with on their own. Most are are one-to-one pairs, but Delilah is the only girl who teamed up with two boy 5th graders. Delilah’s teacher said that all the teams were the perfect fit; that somehow the kids just all found their perfect matches. Delilah’s teacher knew these two boys well, as she had also taught them when they were Kindergarteners 5 years prior. She said they were probably the “boy-est boys in the class.” Delilah LOVES her two big buddies.
DeeDee got to watch all the kids interact with their big buddies today as they made butter. Delilah couldn’t have been happier. When they were done, while the rest of the kids played on the play structure, Delilah followed her big buddies and played football with them…
