My view of the birth.
After being informed of the Dr’s decision “to make a birthday” via c-section, DeeDee was carted off for prepping and I was taken to a room to wait. I spent 5 minutes waiting to get the word that they were ready. That was a very difficult way to spend time alone. Thoughts were flying of the good (the upcoming birth) and the bad (the fears of such a “major” surgery - although from our of our classes c-sects seemed the safer route.)
At roughly, 7:09am I was taken from the room and plopped into a chair in the corner of the operating room. I began double-fisting with camera and camcorder as much of the situation as otherwise I was sure that everything would be lost in the chaos of the moment.
I thought this was one of the better pictures I took of the event (the best one had a bit too much of the actual surgery - not for the faint of heart.) Anyways, it shows how serious everyone was for a relatively simple surgery.
Amazingly, about 3 minutes later Delilah was born.
