Delilah and Lollipops

It turns out Delilah’s fever was due to a common virus called Roseola.  Our pediatrician mentioned to DeeDee that there might be a rash once the fever broke - sure enough, it promptly arrived Saturday morning.  While it was not supposed to be an itchy rash, we quickly discovered that Delilah’s version was just that.

After a very difficult Saturday afternoon/evening (and an even worse Sunday morning) we decided to take Delilah to urgent care as the rash had aggressively spread to her face and her entire body.  We met a great pediatrician who was on call and soothed us with the news that he felt it was simply a combination of the Roseola rash and a bit of hives - most importantly, he could give us medication to help soothe Delilah’s intense itchiness.

He loaded us up with some medicine and sent us on our way… but not before presenting Delilah with her first ever lollipop.  Typical of the last few days, a very unhappy Delilah was not interested in the lollipop at first.  But once I demonstrated how delicious it was, she gave it a whirl and realized what she was missing!

Happy to report the medicine has already made a major dent in the rash and the itchiness, and we are hoping to wake up tomorrow to a much happier and less-rashed little girl.
